Direct Metal Laser Sintering
Direct Metal Laser Sintering (also known as DMLS and direct metal deposition) is a 3D printing/additive manufacturing technology that produces metal prototype and production parts. DMLS prints metal parts by sintering various metal and alloy particles together.People are turning to the Direct Metal Laser Sintering process can create complex and intricate geometries in a short amount of time when compared to traditional machining processes. This 3D printing/additive manufacturing process produces parts with high accuracy and detail resolution, good surface quality, and excellent mechanical properties.
Because DMLS parts can often be made of the same metals as production components, including steel, aluminum, and titanium, these prototypes can be tested rigorously.
Why Use TTH for Direct Metal Laser Sintering?
We have an expanded amount of processes and materials, such as DMLS, in order to produce parts that are closer to production-ready. Unlike some facilities that merely run parts as they are sent to them, we have the expertise to work with you to make sure that the part is designed properly, and orientated correctly so that the highest accuracy and detail resolution is possible.”
Materials range from aluminum to titanium. For more details on the materials available for producing these prototypes, visit our Materials page.
